General notes
Before the top hammer drilling tools leave the factory, the connecting threads between the components have been coated with anaerobic glue and tightened according to the specified torque. There is no need to re-tighten before use.
1. Ground inspection before going down: Lift the drilling tool with the lifting sub-joint and put it into the turntable slip, make the bypass valve on the turntable, install the safety slip, remove the lifting sub-joint, and check the flexibility of the bypass valve, The method is to press down the valve core with a wooden rod, and then loosen it. Under the action of the spring force, the valve core returns to normal. Press it down repeatedly for 3-5 times. The valve core has no jamming and can move flexibly, and then bypass the drilling tool. The pump is opened when the hole is lowered to the bottom of the grill plate, the bypass hole is closed, the motor is started, and the joint is driven to rotate. After the pump is stopped, the spool resets, mudflows out from the bypass hole, and the drilling tool are normal.
2. Run the drilling tool into the well
(1) When the drilling tool goes down the well, strictly control the lowering speed to prevent the motor from reversing when it is too fast so that the internal connection thread is tripped, and at the same time to prevent the drilling tool from being damaged by sand bridges, casing shoes, etc.
(2) When running into a deep well section or encountering a high-temperature section, and when passing through a quicksand layer well section, the drilling tool should be periodically circulated to cool the drilling tool to protect the stator rubber and prevent sand blockage.
(3) When the drilling tool is close to the bottom of the well, the speed should be slowed down, and the drilling should be continued after the cycle is advanced. The cycle first has a small displacement and then increases the displacement after the mud returns from the wellhead.
(4) It is not allowed to stop drilling or seat the drilling tool at the bottom of the well.
3. Drilling
(1) Before drilling the drilling tool, the bottom of the well should be fully cleaned and the circulating pump pressure should be measured.
(2) When drilling starts, the drilling pressure should be increased slowly. When drilling normally, the driller can use the following formula to control the operation: Drilling pump pressure = circulating pump pressure + drilling tool load pressure drop
(3) When drilling starts, the drilling speed should not be too fast. At this time, the drilling tool and the bit are very tight, and the bottom of the well has not been cleaned, which is likely to produce bit mud packs.
(4) The torque produced by the drilling tool is proportional to the pressure drop of the motor, so increasing the weight on the bit can increase the torque.
(5) Uniform drilling can ensure the smooth curve and orientation accuracy of the good section.
4. Get out of the borehole and check the drilling tool
(1) Rinse the bypass valve with clean water, and move the valve core up and down with a wooden stick to make it close flexibly.
(2) Use a pipe wrench to bite the drill tool, use a chain clamp to turn the drive joint clockwise, pour clean water from the upper part of the bypass valve to clean the inside of the drill tool, and finally inject a small amount of mineral oil into the motor.
(3) Attention should be paid to the tripping speed to prevent jamming from damaging the drilling tool.
(4) Measure the bearing clearance of the drilling tool. If the bearing clearance exceeds a larger tolerance, the drilling tool should be repaired and replaced with a new bearing (for workover drills, the axial clearance of the bearing should be adjusted).
